At certain times of the year it can be difficult to reserve a ferry crossing,
so contact the ferry companies in advance -
the nearest ports are Cherbourg, (1½ hours) Caen/Ouistreham (¾hr)
or Le Havre (2 hrs).
From the port of Cherbourg, the journey will take just over an hour.
LOCAL MAP
- Follow the main road out of Cherbourg, the N13, direction Caen.
- Once you're past Isigny-sur-Mer look for the sign to Le Molay Littry or Balleroy.
- In the centre of Balleroy, outside the château gates, turn right onto the D28, signposted Caumont L'Éventé.
- Continue for 8 km until you reach a crossroads with a red 'STOP' sign - the only one on this road.
- Turn left onto the D31.
- After 1km you will reach the hamlet of La Chapelle, around 8 houses.
Do not turn up the first drive!
Look for our white, arrow-shaped, "La Chapelle" sign just before the last house on the right; turn right into our drive.
- At the top of the drive, follow the track around and we will come out to greet you.
From Le Havre (2 hours) or Ouistreham (less than 1 hour):
- Head for Caen, once on the ring road look for the sign to Cherbourg & St Lô (N13).
- After 6km on this road take the exit for Carpiquet and Caumont L'Éventé, route D9.
- Immediately opposite the church in Caumont L'Éventé, take the D28 towards Balleroy.
- After 4 km you will reach the 'STOP' sign; turn right onto the D31.
- As last two steps above.
Ignore all signs for Foulognes - that is just part of the postal address.
